F.A.Q

Q: How much does it cost to join?
A: Cost is $60.00 per year, with memberships available for the 2010 year starting in May. Membership in the Moose Club also gives you membership to our Parent Club, ATV BC. A family membership can also be obtained for a cost of $100.00

Q: Can anyone join?
A: Yes, you do not have to be a resident of Fort St John.

Q: When do you meet?
A: The Moose Club meets on the second Tuesday of the month in Room 2116 of the Northern Lights College (UNBC) for 7:00PM. Feel free to come a few minutes early to chat about local riding/tips/gear or whatever you decide to chat about.

Q: What benefits are in it for me.
A: As with any club, membership is what you make of it. While there are some small benefits arising thru discounts and offers, the main benefit is the interaction and social gatherings that take place thru-out the year.

Q: How often are you going to ask me to volunteer?
A: We respect that everyone has family work shifts, and do not hound people to help out. If you want to volunteer, we greatly appreciate the help, and respect any time you may choose to give, whether it be 1 hr or 100.

Q: Do you have maps of the local riding areas?
A: A map will be available in late 2010 riding season.

Q: How does the Moose Club raise money for its events?
A: Variuos local events and through memberships.

Q: If I am not from the area but wish to find information on trails and such, where can I find this?
A: Our local web-site has some of the information posted to it thru use of the "Ride Guide" page. Some members of the club have GPS tracks of certain trails as well they do not mind sharing and can be contacted thru the club. A person can also call the club directly at (250) 787 7795 during the hours of 8:00AM to 9:00PM.

Q: I need to find information on Canadian Safety Council Training, Can the Moose help?
A: The Moose Club has two Safety Instructors as part of it's club membership, and knows of several others in the area. Instructor information across the Province can also be found at www.atvbc.com/safety or by calling 1-866-766-7823. Please check out our web page on Canadian Safety Council Quad Course.

Q: Can I be notified of an up-coming ride that I can tag along on?
A: The Moose Atv Club has an e-mail distribution list that describes who, what, where, when on any ride that the Moose ATV Club will be hosting, or one that we have been requested to share by our club members. To join this mailing list, please send an e-mail to the clubwith your request to be added.

Q: Are there any conditions to joining the Moose Club on a club ride?
A: Yes there are. These are pretty simple ones though. First, No Alcohol is allowed on the ride. Second, Helmets MUST be warn while ride is underway (not during rest stops though) and third, riders must ride in such a manner that no one else is put at risk by their actions.

Q: How often is there a guided ride?
A: The Moose Atv Club will be trying to host a minimum of two rides per month to different areas of the Peace. These could range from as far away south as Chetwynd area, and go as far north as Christina falls west of Wonowon. It is up to you as to if you would like to join each ride, and you assume all costs of riding that day, as well as transportation requirements for you and your family members
